Designed for kids ages 11-16, Big Grom Surf Camp is a high-energy, immersive surf experience perfect for both beginners and those looking to level up their skills. Over four days, campers will:

• ✔ Learn to read the ocean & position themselves for waves
• ✔ Improve paddling, board handling & wave-catching techniques
• ✔ Gain confidence in surf safety & etiquette
• ✔ Have an epic time making friends & riding waves!

Our CPR-certified instructors maintain a small 3:1 camper-to-instructor ratio in the ocean and 5:1 on the bay, ensuring every Lil’ Grom gets the attention they need to progress while feeling safe and stoked! Must be able to swim to participate.

Surf Camp Start Times

We don’t run surf camp sessions on a fixed hourly schedule. Instead, we choose the best start time based on ocean conditions and tides. By 6 PM the night before each camp day, we contact you with your exact start time. We’ll confirm again the morning of camp in case conditions change overnight. This flexible scheduling helps ensure the best possible experience—right in line with our Positive Experience Guarantee.

Check-in: Arrive 15 minutes early at our shop (220 S Bay Ave, Beach Haven, NJ) for a wetsuit fitting before heading to the beach.
