The Benefits of SUP Yoga
A complete workout. Not only will you activate muscles used for your traditional yoga poses but also strengthen your core the whole time.
Balance, balance and balance. Nothing helps you refine your yogic balance than practicing on a moveable platform!
A little risk goes a long way. Yoga students can often fall into a rut after years of practicing the same routine. But add the possibility of falling into the water and you’ve just made your workout much more adventurous.
Mother Nature Time. Yoga teaches you to get in tune with your body and breath. Yoga on a paddleboard reminds you of the big picture, adding a one-of-a-kind spiritual element.
Our SUP Yoga Instructors include:
I’m a mermaid at heart as well as a 200-hour registered yoga teacher, an ACA certified SUP instructor, and the founder of ebb + flow yoga. My SUP yoga classes on LBI are open to all levels of SUP and yoga experience and emphasize intelligent alignment and rhythmic breathing.
Joell is a Pisces and belongs in the water every day or she will behave badly. Her classes are a fun mixture of challenging sequences and relaxing stretches perfect for all levels of mermaid or merman yogi. She enjoys paddle surfing, surfing, snowboarding, eating pizza, kissing dogs and drinking coffee.
For any SUP class or lesson with Gabbie, bring your sense of humor and leave your shoes and towel at the dock. “I love being on the water, its where I belong.” It is humbling and so much fun. SUP yoga classes are very similar to classes on land, just a little slower. On the water we always practice nautical themed postures and sometimes someone goes for an accidental swim.
